Terms of Use
Version of 26 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Quiwi app and the site quiwi.app. They are deliberately short and in plain language.
1. Who these terms are with
Your contract is with Pik Production GmbH, Georgsstrasse 38, 30159 Hannover, Germany, district court of Hannover HRB 227341, represented by Jan Pulfer.
This agreement is between you and us only, and not with Apple. Apple is not a party to this agreement. We alone are responsible for the app and its content.
2. What Quiwi is
Quiwi is a reading trainer. The app shows text word by word at a fixed position so your eyes move less. You set the pace yourself.
Quiwi is a training and entertainment product, not a medical device and not a therapy. It does not diagnose or treat anything, in particular no reading disorder and no vision impairment. No particular learning outcome or reading speed is promised. If you notice discomfort while reading, such as headaches, dizziness or eye problems, stop and talk to a doctor.
If you have epilepsy or are sensitive to rapidly changing visual content, do not use the app without medical advice.
3. Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian. You need a suitable device and a current operating system.
4. Your licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial purposes. On Apple devices this licence is subject to the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including through Family Sharing.
You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the app, reverse engineer it or circumvent protective measures, except where the law expressly allows it.
5. Your texts
Texts you load into Quiwi stay on your device. We do not see them and do not store them. You are responsible for the rights to those texts: only load what you are allowed to read.
6. Quiwi Pro
The core features are free. Beyond those there is a single paid product:
- Quiwi Pro, a one-time purchase of 4.99 euro including VAT. Not a subscription, no recurring payment. Unlocks reading in word groups, your own texts without a length limit, the library with your own cover images, and the classics.
Billing runs through your Apple ID. Because this is a one-time purchase there is nothing to cancel; the purchase stays tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on a new device.
Prices may change. A change applies only to future purchases and does not affect a purchase you have already made.
7. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer you generally have a fourteen day right of withdrawal for digital content. Because purchases are handled through the App Store, withdrawal follows the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Request refunds directly from Apple there.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable operation but do not owe any particular level of availability. We may develop, change or discontinue features. If a feature you paid for is removed, you may cancel a running subscription at the next possible date.
9. Maintenance and support
We alone are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services. You can reach us at info@pikproduction.com.
10. Defects and warranty
The statutory provisions on defects in digital products apply. We alone are responsible for any warranties, not Apple.
In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you, if one was paid. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app. We alone are responsible for any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, for fraudulent concealment of a defect, to the extent of any guarantee we have given, and under the German Product Liability Act.
For slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely, our liability is limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
These provisions also apply to the personal liability of our legal representatives and agents.
12. Product claims
We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of the app. These include in particular
- product liability claims,
- any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and
- claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
13. Intellectual property rights
In the event of any third party claim that the app infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any such claim.
The app, its source code, its design, the name Quiwi and the kiwi mark are protected by copyright and trade mark law and remain our property.
14. Legal compliance and export rules
By using the app you represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a terrorist supporting country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
15. Third party terms
You must comply with applicable third party terms of agreement when using the app, in particular the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the terms of your mobile network operator.
16. Apple as third party beneficiary
Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms of use. Upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these terms against you as a third party beneficiary.
17. Privacy
How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy. In short: Quiwi needs no account, and your texts and settings stay on your device.
18. Term and termination
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may terminate this agreement without notice for good cause, in particular for serious breaches of section 4 or 5.
19. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms where there is an objective reason to do so. We will inform you at least 30 days in advance in the app or on this page. If you do not object before the change takes effect, the changes are deemed accepted; we will point this out separately in the notice.
20. Governing law and dispute resolution
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you have your habitual residence in another member state of the European Union, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of that state remain unaffected. If the customer is a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is Hannover.
European Commission platform for online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
21. Final provisions
Should any provision be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. The German version prevails; translations are provided for convenience.
